To help solve this issue, we've collected information on a number of different services that are available. Our hope is that this can help people find a solution to their problems, regardless of what they are, and improve their overall quality of life.

American Red Cross of Northern New York prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. The Red Cross provides shelter, food and health services during disasters. We teach preparedness to individuals and work with partner agencies to provide communitywide preparedness solutions. We send emergency messages to service members all over the world, and link military families to resources. They help parents to locate high-quality child care with our cost-free Child Care Resource and Referral program (CCR&R). They guide providers through the licensing and registration process. They assist child care providers by offering education, start-up grants, and quality improvement materials. In addition, the Jefferson-Lewis Childcare Project administers the Child and Adult Care Food Program for family child care homes and group family child care homes, providing nutrition education and assistance with the USDA reimbursement program.
Housing and Energy Services administers the Weatherization Assistance Program – a program that helps low-income households lower their utility bills by making homes more energy efficient.
