FAQ's

Below is a list of questions frequently asked by our clients.
Why come to counseling?
Psychotherapy is the process of meeting with a therapist (or counselor) to talk about problematic thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, and feelings.  Talking about these issues fosters insight into the problems experienced, increases self-awareness, and removes psychological barriers that prevent you from achieving your goals and having a sense of well-being.

What to Expect
Intake Process:
When you call our office you will be greeted by one of our friendly front office staff.  They will get some basic information from you and ask you a few questions to get a basic understanding as to what you want to be seen for.  Our office staff will schedule you for an intake session with one of our therapists as soon as the schedules permit.

For children being seen:  We ask that parents or guardians come to the first appointment without the child so that the therapist can speak to the parent or guardian about the issues at hand.

How quickly can I been seen?
We do our best to accommodate getting you in our schedules as soon as possible; however it could take up to 2 weeks to be seen.

The number of sessions and frequency (weekly, every other week, etc) will depend on your individual needs and will be discussed with you at your first session.

Do we prescribe medication?
No. We do not have a provider on staff who can prescribe medications. We have 4 Licensed Mental Health Counselors and 1 Master’s level counselor. If medication is something that you’re considering, our counselors can speak with you about possible referrals for that.
